INTRODUCING YOURSELF AND OTHERS

Class Notes:

From this section you need to make sure that you know what the interrogative words mean. This should be review. Go to the practice exercises at the end of the ‘capítulo preliminar’ on this website to make sure that you know what these words mean. You could also use the disk from the textbook to do practice exercises for this section.

¿Cómo? –what/how

¿Cuál? –what/which (used when there is a choice)

¿Qué? –what (when looking for a definition or an explanation, qué + ser, or when followed by a noun.)

¿De dónde? –from where

¿A dónde? – to where

¿Cuánto/a/os/as? –How much, how many

¿Cuándo? when

¿Quién(es)? Who, who plural

¿Por qué- why

**NOTICE: ALL OF THE QUESTION WORDS HAVE WRITTEN ACCENT MARKS.

It is important that you know how to ask people questions about themselves and to be able to answer these same questions.

For example:

¿Cómo te llamas? Me llamo Krista

¿De dónde eres? Soy de Amherst

¿Cuántos años tienes? Tengo 25 años.

ETC.

Like I said earlier, make sure that you do the practice exercises. HINT, HINT!!
