V. Expressing Future Actions
Class notes:
*Aside from using the future tense, one could also use ‘ir + a + infinitive’ to talk about the future.
The present conjugations of the verb ‘ir’ are:
voy vamos
vas vais
va van
Ex:
Voy a ser profesora.
(I am going to be a profesor/teacher)
Vamos a ir a la escuela mañana.
(We are going to go to school tomorrow.)
*Sometimes the present tense is used with a time reference to express future actions.
Ex:
Van dentro de poco. (They will go in a little while.)
La ceremonia termina a las 5:00, ¿verdad?
(The ceremony ends/finishes at 5:00, right?)
